A34-001 Delivery Flight

Evening Team,

On Thursday 25th June the first RAAF C27J touched down at Richmond. We have also been planning the first delivery flight and it is now underway. Due to ETOPS we are forced to go up and over the pacific.

RMK: Departed Waco Prior to sunset, climbed out to cruise. Uneventful flight besides a headwind and fuel consumption was higher than expected and maintenance was required prior to leaving Boeing Flied to correct the issue.

RMK: Departed Boeing Flied Mid Morning, climbed out to cruise and over the Mountains of Canada. Fuel consumption was on the mark once again.

Tested the countermeasure system. Reports of weather closing in at Kodiak came through. Cloud had dropped down to be overcast at 550ft. MDA for the ILS approach was 604ft. With extra fuel loaded prior to departure, commited to attempting the approach with Elmendorf AFB Airport (Anchorage, AK) selected for alternative if unable to land.

Runway 25 became visible at 900ft.

Looking like you're having fun :) and yeah the ground crew wishes to apologise for that Fuel leak you had.. some one forgot to tighten a hose connector right and as such about 1/2 the fuel the engine was demanding kept being dumped outside... we've had words to the mechanic responsible and he's promised to triple check his work in future, we let him off with a verbal reprimand this time as he has had a lot on his plate and there was no actual 'mishap'.

We are also glad to see that while you stopped at Boeing Field the team was able to do the quick system update to your avionics, we've noted the small issue with the Pilot and Copilot MFD screens and have rectified it in later versions you should find that subject to some testing it will be ready for your ground crew to fix up shortly, and we also have finished the Radar intergration Stage 1 mod's.. We think they should ship with that firmware update, but can't promise yet.
