RAAFv first flight to Antarctica

Post by Darren Boaden »

Last month saw the inaugural C17 flight to the Australian base and airfield of Wilkins YWKS

It was a great flight that saw great weather on the arrival for a visual approach, but the weather turned for the departure with blinding conditions just after lift off until above 2000ft.

It was an awesome flight and an honour to be the first RAAFv pilot to land at Wilkins in a C17. The Antarctica X scenery is fantastic and well worth it if you wish to venture down there.
